Lexmark - printing goes wireless
Dear Alan

Halo 3 lives up to the hype

It's rare that games live up to their hype, but Halo 3 appears to have done just that by racking up more than $170m in sales - and that's just in the 24 hour period after it hit the shelves.

It all makes good reading for Microsoft's gaming division, which is looking to start turning a profit for the very first time. Xbox Live, as you would expect, has also been put through its paces, recording over one million users during the first day of Halo 3 sales.

Will this be enough to vanquish the threat posed by the Nintendo Wii and Sony's Playstation 3? Not according to analyst firm DFC Intelligence, which says the Xbox 360's relatively small international base will see it shift to third place behind its rivals.

Finally, the
Ultimate Guide to Linux for Beginners is on sale now. You can read more about it in the Reader Offer section below.
